Three Hours

At first, our lights just flickered a bit. And then, they shut off, the ceiling fans stopped, our air conditioning ceased, and the power to the oven (and everything else in the house) stopped. Yes, we lost power, just as we finished making our dinner, so we ate by candlelight (which N thought was very cool). And then, for the next three hours, we were without electricity. And, to make it worse, we were teased twice by the lights flickering back on, only to shut off seconds later. Shortly before eight, the power came back on, and we were rescued. The good news is that this is just about the second time in a little over two years where we have lost power for any significant period of time, but when it happens, even if it is infrequent, it is a hassle.

It's terrible when the the power goes out. I think that would be a worse situation for me when it is not storming and the weather is perfect and the power goes out for some reason or another.
