What a Great Sight

It looks like my favorite band, The Hold Steady, is back in the studio working on a new album. And, from the looks of this picture, there will be some backing vocals by Ben Nichols of Lucero. I came across The Hold Steady a few years ago when my friend, Tony, put them on one of his famous 'Best of' compilation CDs (which reminds me, Cuats, where's 2007?). Of course, I didn't really take notice then, but came back to them last summer and couldn't get enough of what I heard. I picked up all three of their albums, scoured the Internet for anything else I could find (KEXP had a nice live set a few months ago), and now I wait, patiently, for the next offering. It's gonna be great.
