A Losing Battle?

Earlier in the summer, we expected the farmer, whose field our yard backs up to, to plant some sort of crop, beans probably, because he had come by and tilled the soil. A few months have now passed, and the only crop that's growing is weeds -- all sorts of weeds. The problem is that the weeds don't understand where the field ends and our backyard begins, so they are encroaching into our yard. Out of mercy, the farmer came by a few weeks ago and cut down the weeds that actually touched our yard, but the damage is already done. The picture above shows our shed, which is at the back of the yard, the mercy-cut strip, and the acres of weeds. I see my fall being occupied with weed eradication. Let the fun begin .....
